Super fun exercises you can do with your child using a skateboard.
Roller or Skateboard Workout!
It was raining outside. Charlie was bored, Cooper was napping. My husband won a skateboard a few years ago at a charity auction and we’re keeping it for when Charlie is old enough to ride it. Not everyone has a skateboard lying around, but you might have a roller? This was a fun workout we did together which killed some time, helped tone a few key post-baby muscles and kept the toddler boredom at bay.
3 sets takes about 15-20mins. Build up to 4-5. 1 min rest between each set. Go hard and keep your form! Having your child (or dog ha! ) sit on the skateboard adds great resistance and is a giggle!
30 secs lunges using the skateboard to roll each leg back
( be sure to keep your core strong and knee doesn’t go over your toes )
15 sec lunge pulses each side
30 sec two leg mountain climber
30 sec side lunges using the skateboard to roll each leg out
( be sure to keep core strong and knee doesn’t go over your toes )
30 sec balance squats on the skateboard ( or just normal squats with a hold )
15-20 sec ab roller using the skateboard
( focus on keeping your core tight throughout the movement, go slow, this works your shoulders too )
30 sec reverse plank crunches using the skateboard to pull your legs and out
( focus on keeping your hands under your shoulders, core strong and keep your butt up! )
